Arsene Wenger reveals why he will NOT be at Arsenal final but WILL be at Tottenham’s

Chelsea and Arsenal go head-to-head in the Europa League final in Baku.

Champions League qualification is up for grabs for the Gunners but Chelsea have already secured their spot in the competition for next season.

It is arguably Unai Emery’s biggest game in charge of Arsenal since replacing Arsene Wenger as head coach last summer.

However, Wenger says he has other commitments preventing him from travelling to Azerbaijan.

I will not be in Baku because I have commitments that I accepted and I will have to respect that

He has revealed he will be attending the Champions League final four days later though, where Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham are in action.

Spurs face Liverpool at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

“How will I watch it [the Europa League final]? On television,” Wenger told talkSPORT.

“I will not be in Baku because I have commitments that I accepted and I will have to respect that.

“So I will watch it on television and I will be in Madrid for the big final.”

Wenger has been out of a job since leaving Arsenal last year.

He says he will take another role in football but admits it may not be as a manager.

“I am a competitor first, I live for competition and I will be back in football soon,” Wenger added.

“That’s a promise.

“In what way, I don’t know, but I will be back.”
