Barcelona hit with transfer blow as PSG chief Leonardo stands firm over Neymar

Barcelona have been trying to secure a deal for Neymar to return to Spain after the forward informed PSG of his desire to leave before the transfer window closes this summer.

The French giants made the 27-year-old the most expensive player in history when he joined for £200million in 2017, but he has grown frustrated at their European failures.

However, despite the player’s desire to leave the club for a return to the Nou Camp, PSG are standing firm over their international superstar.

“There is nothing different, nothing at all,” Leonardo said when asked about the current situation as quoted by Sky Sports.

“There are no concrete offers for Neymar.

“He has a contract with us and is our player.

“I repeat, there is no concrete offer.

“It’s been the same situation for ten days.”

Sky Germany reported earlier this week that Barcelona were prepared to offer a cash sum as well at a choice of two players from a list of six.

The list consisted of Ivan Rakitic, Nelson Semedo, Malcom, Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Samuel Umtiti, but PSG failed to show interest.

Thomas Tuchel has openly revealed that Neymar wants to leave the club in the coming weeks, and even added that he knew of his desire to leave before the Copa America.

Neymar missed the entire tournament through injury as Brazil went on to be crowned champions, in what could be his last summer at PSG.

“I am always disappointed when a player turns up late,” Tuchel said.

“But it is clear between us, now it is between the club and Ney.

“Did I know that he wanted to leave? Yes, I found out before the Copa America.

“But it is something between the club and Ney.”
