Dominic Thiem jokingly asks Serena Williams if she wants to play mixed doubles with him at Wimbledon after their fall-out in Paris

  • Thiem fell out with Williams when she interrupted his press conference 
  • Now he has suggested that the pair should team up at Wimbledon 

Roland Garros finalist Dominic Thiem has jokingly asked if Serena Williams wants to partner him in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon.

Thiem and Williams fell out in Paris when the men’s world No 4 was forced to leave his press conference early.

After beating Pablo Cuevas in the third round, Thiem was taking questions when Williams entered the room.

Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem was left furious after officials asked him to vacate the main press conference room at the French Open to make way for Serena Williams 

Thiem was answering questions when he was asked to leave to allow Williams into the chair

Thiem has now suggested that the pair should team up in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon 

Williams didn’t want to wait for another room to become available and Thiem was forced out. ‘It’s a joke,’ he said at the time.

He has now attempted tried to make up with the 23-time major winner by sarcastically suggesting: ‘I feel a bit sorry for what happened.

‘Maybe we can play mixed doubles in Wimbledon one day.’
