Amir Khan retires aged 35 after losing Kell Brook fight as boxing career ends

Amir Khan has retired from proffesional boxing following his defeat to Kell Brook in their long anticipated grudge match last month.

Khan tweeted: "It’s time to hang up my gloves. I feel blessed to have had such an amazing career that has spanned over 27 years. I want to say a heartfelt thanks and to the incredible teams I have worked with and to my family, friends and fans for the love and support they have shown me."

The Bolton native will hang up his gloves with 40 proffesional bouts to his name, resulting in 34 wins and six defeats. Khan claimed a number of titles at Welterweight level before challenging for belts in the Middleweight division.
