Tyson Fury’s promoter Bob Arum is adamant that the Gypsy King would wipe the floor with a prime Mike Tyson, and said Iron Mike would be ‘no contest’ for the current heavyweight champion of the world.
Fury has opened the door in recent weeks to a potential exhibition with the great Tyson, after he told iFL: “I love watching Mike come back and fight you know, I would love to fight Mike Tyson in an exhibition.
“If the Dillian Whyte [fight] doesn’t happen, then I would love to [fight] Mike in an exhibition.
"Tyson vs Tyson, past vs present and there is just so much fun to have out there in this game.”
The Gypsy King’s mention of a potential bout between two of boxing’s past and present stars has resulted in plenty of talk and excitement from fans of the sport, with many debating the outcome of a bout with the pair both in their primes.
For Fury’s promoter Arum though, there would only be one winner as he believes Tyson would prove ‘no contest’ for the Englishman.
He told TalkSport : “You know fight fans love to play mythical match-ups… if we ever saw a peak Tyson Fury against a peak Mike Tyson how does that fight go down?
“Well, there’s no contest. Tyson Fury would beat him, he’s way too big for him.

"What’s Mike Tyson going to do, jump up and land a punch on Tyson Fury?"
The promoter went on to reveal that he believes the sheer size and agility of heavyweight fighters in modern day boxers would prove too much for the greats of previous years.
Arum continued: “Heavyweights now are so tall and agile, which they weren’t before, that smaller heavyweights like Mike Tyson wouldn’t be competitive with him."

As well as Team Fury discussing what the mythical outcome of the fight would be, Iron Mike himself has also spoken out about what it would be like to take on the Gypsy King.
He revealed that he believes the key to taking on Fury is to be ‘aggressive’ and elusive’.
Tyson toldRing Magazine: “Against someone of Tyson Fury's size, you've got to be aggressive, move your head and be elusive because if you stand still against a man that size, you're an easy target.”
He also admitted that he felt ‘distance’ and ‘angles’ would play a huge role, adding:“You need to attack, use angles and stay away from his punching distance.
"You need to be close, but you can't stay at a distance that allows the bigger fighter to get off.”
