Chris Eubank Jr launches scathing attack on 'women beating moron' BJ Saunders

Chris Eubank Jr has launched a scathing attack on Billy Joe Saunders after his rival had his boxing licence suspended.

Saunders faces a ban if a British Boxing Board of Control hearing finds his recent comments on domestic violence breached their disciplinary rules.

The WBO super-middleweight champion released a ‘tutorial’ on how men can beat their partners during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

Eubank Jr has a loss on his record to Saunders and has long called for a rematch with his domestic rival.

But after Saunders’ recent actions, Eubank Jr has urged the Board to ban the boxer permanently.

‘So Billy Joe Saunders, a women beating, COVID-19 hoaxing, drug abusing, police impersonating moron,’ Eubank Jr tweeted.

‘Oh yeah, paid a vulnerable women to punch an innocent man in the face as-well.

‘As fighters at the top we have kids looking up to us, copying what we do inside and outside of the ring,’ he continued.

‘Having Billy Joe Saunders as a representative of boxing is an injustice to all women suffering in abusive relationships and the kids who look to learn from us as ambassador.’

Saunders has apologised for releasing the video and vowed to donate £25,000 from his next fight purse to a charity fighting to end domestic abuse.

Cases of domestic abused has sky rocketed across the world amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Saunders will no doubt receive a huge fine having already been punished by the Board in his pro career.

The unbeaten boxer was fined £100,000 in 2018 when a video emerged of Saunders offering a women £150 worth of drugs to perform a sex act.

Saunders released a statement after the Board had announced his suspension.

‘I would like to address the issue at hand. Let me first start by apologising. There is no excuse for my actions,’ he wrote.

*Public post*This is British boxer Billy Jo Saunders, he’s the super middleweight world champion.Young boys look up to him.I’m truly disgusted that he thinks this video inciting violence against women is in anyway away ok, I’m absolutely speachless.Edit: He’s been suspended

‘It was a very, very bad, out of taste joke. I am a God fearing man and I do not condone domestic violence under any circumstances.

‘When I created this video in poor taste, I never considered how people might interpret it and instead was trying to make light of the very stressful situation we have all found ourselves in and the heightened emotions of families being confined to each other’s company.

‘It did not cross my mind about the actual reality of domestic violence and its suffered and the second I realised it could cause any upset I quickly took the video down, but unfortunately with the way social media works, it spread like wildfire. I can’t change that, I have and do wholeheartedly apologise.

‘I can only take actions to help people, and will be making a donation from my next fight purse to a British domestic violence charity to help victims and prevent further victims of domestic abuse.

‘I will also host some self defence workshops and seminars for survivors and current or potential sufferers of domestic violence.

‘Unfortunately I can’t take the video back, but I can do my bit to help people who suffer or have suffered and become part of the public voice to prevent domestic violence and change future generations’ attitude and that’s what I’m committed to doing.’
