Evander Holyfield’s first comeback fight before Mike Tyson clash is confirmed

Evander Holyfield's return to the ring has been confirmed with a fight against Kevin McBride.

The retired heavyweight will fight in an eight-round exhibition as part of the undercard of the Teofimo Lopez lightweight world title defence against Geoge Kambosos on June 5.

Holyfield has been lined up for a fight with Mike Tyson, as the pair roll back the years and finally complete their blockbuster triology.

Sports Illustrated claim that that Holyfield wanted to secure a fight against Tyson, but will now take on McBride, with a potential clash with his old foe later in the year.

Holyfield, 58, has had a long rivalry with Tyson after their two fights in the 1990s.

The 1997 clash ended in a disqualification win for Holyfield after Tyson bit a piece off his opponent's ear.

McBride will be no light opponent for Holyfield, as he himself is best known for beating Tyson in the match which resigned him to retirement.

Like Holyfield, he is now retired, with his last fight coming in 2011 when he was stopped by Mariusz Wach.
