Boxing promoters need to get together and make the big fights.
I didn’t need Oscar de la Hoya to tell us that on social media. It’s what I’ve always wanted for the sport.
De La Hoya took to social media recently to call for a roundtable discussion between some of the promoters in the sport. We’re more than happy to work with anyone in the business for the right fights.

That doesn’t mean we will stop picking holes in our rivals’ products or hitting back when we get criticism from their side. But the phone is always on over here at Queensberry to make the biggest bouts possible. If they’re right for our boxers. You’ll see that soon enough for what we’ve got in the pipeline.
Of course we have to consider the TV broadcasters, too. They invest hugely in fighters and it’s not always possible for them to compete on other channels. But we will do our best to work with everyone. As long as they’ll work with us.
Next Friday we will be hosting a boxing event for a charity close to my heart – the 18th annual DEBRA fight night at The Brewery in London. The charity is for supporting individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa, the painful genetic skin blistering condition.
They’ve managed to raise nearly £5m already this year and the fundraising for the last 12 months kicked off with a bet Tyson Fury and I had. I bet him £10,000 that Anthony Joshua would sign to fight him. Guess who won? Of course Tyson did. Tyson donated the money to the charity during an interview with Myra Ali, a content creator and journalist who suffered from the condition. Sadly Myra recently passed away but we continue to raise funds for people like her.

Graeme Souness also swam the channel earlier in the year to raise money, too. Next Friday should be a great night of action and hopefully we can continue doing good for a fine charity.
Also, keep an eye out for some big announcements next week. I promised you they would be game changing.
