Jake Paul mocked for calling out Canelo ‘after barely beating’ Anderson Silva
Jake Paul has been mocked for calling out multiple world champion Canelo Alvarez after beating 47-year-old Anderson Silva.
Paul extended his boxing record to 6-0 as he saw off MMA legend Silva by unanimous decision, knocking the veteran down in the final round. The win follows back-to-back victories over another ex-UFC star in Tyron Woodley.
Woodley was 39 when he fought Paul, who is just 25, with the YouTube star yet to face a true out-and-out boxer. Though he is keen to take on Canelo in the future, as well as Nate Diaz.

After beating Silva, Paul said: "I want Nate Diaz whose a b****. He tried to come into my locker room, he tried to cause some s*** and he always leaves the arena.
"So, Nate Diaz stop being a b**** and fight me – and Canelo you too. You too, Canelo.
"You guys said 'oh, you can't beat a striker, you can't beat a legend like Anderson Silva'. I just did it so why can't I beat Canelo? F*** y'all."
Though fans were quick to mock Paul for his ambition, with one writing on social media: "Imagine if Jake Paul fought Anderson Silva in his prime, he’s struggling against Silva at this legendary age and is calling out Canelo."
Another posted a gif of a wild celebration, commenting: "Jake Paul after barely beating another retired senior citizen."
And a third posted: "Jake Paul crying after beating yet another 40 year old retired man instead of fighting someone his age."
Nate Diaz is also over ten years older than Paul, though did cause a scene at the fight as he got involved in a backstage brawl.
Journalist Ariel Helwani wrote on Twitter: "Big scuffle. Pushes. Got physical and drinks were thrown. Over 20 people involved. Almost got ugly but they broke it up and then the Diaz team weren’t seen again."
