Amir Khan and Kell Brook are finally set to go head to head later this year following successful talks with promoter Eddie Hearn.
British boxing fans have been desperate for Khan, 34, and Brook, 35, to meet in the ring for the past decade, only for negotiations between the pair to regularly hit a stumbling block.
However, with both men now at the back end of their careers and eyeing up one last payday, it is believed they have finally agreed to lock horns in December.
According to The Sun, the former world champions are likely to meet in Saudi Arabia at the end of the year after positive discussions with Hearn, who has worked with both men in the past.
Khan met with the Matchroom chief on Tuesday to iron out terms for his long-awaited grudge match with Brook, who has claimed for a number of years that his domestic rival does not want to fight him.
Now he appears to have finally tempted the Bolton fighter into the ring, although Hearn admits their showdown will not be the high-quality bout it once promised to be.

“I would do the fight, it is still a great fight, but it is not the fight it once was," he said.
“It’s an auction with two guys who want to make as much money as they can. I want to do the fight but only at the right price.
“Both guys see this as their last fight so whoever pays the most money (promoter/broadcaster) will get the fight.
“DAZN has an idea of what we think the fight is worth, I think Sky would just put it on pay-per-view and that could be risky.”
Khan is one of the most famous British fighters of the last decade, becoming a unified champion a super-lightweight before launching unsuccessful challenges for the welterweight and middleweight titles.
He has not competed for over two years, with his last outing coming in July 2019 against rank underdog Billy Dib.

Brook, whose greatest moment came when he captured the IBF welterweight title in 2014, last laced up the gloves in November 2020, suffering an early stoppage defeat against pound-for-pound master Terence Crawford.
Arch-rival Khan was also beaten by Crawford in his last world-title tilt, coming unstuck when they met in April 2019.
