Tommy Fury to earn huge purse for Jake Paul fight – more than some world champs

Tommy Fury’s huge purse for his much-anticipated bout with Jake Paul will earn him more than some world champions, according to his dad.

John Fury reckons he will earn "in the millions" and more than "some world champions", while it was recently reported in MEN he will receive "over £1milllion".

If that's true, the fight will make him more than what Carl Frampton did from winning the IBF super-bantamweight title.

Frampton beat Kiko Martinez with a resounding unanimous decision win in 2014 but left "with a small payday" despite the revenue made from the Titanic fight.

The Northern Irish former received approximately £146,000 even though the fight took place in Belfast and his name was the main pull for audiences in the area.

The celebrity pair are set to go head-to-head and put their unbeaten record on the line in a fight that will last eight rounds on December 18 in Florida.

With such a huge turnout, Fury senior says it will result in a massive payout.

He told entrepreneur Rob Moore: "Listen, Tommy's getting paid more money for this than some world champions.
