Trekking has been confirmed as a starter in the $15 million The TAB Everest – and Eduardo is next in line to make the final field.
Everest slot holders have got busy this week with Godolphin’s Trekking the third sprinter in as many days to be selected for the world’s richest turf race, run at Royal Randwick on October 17.
On Monday, Godolphin announced Bivouac will run in their slot before Coolmore made their move on Tuesday evening revealing Santa Ana Lane as their choice.
Trekking gives Godolphin a second starter in The Everest with slot holders Max Whitby and Neil Werrett confirming the deal this morning.
Godolphin’s managing director Vin Cox said he was “delighted to be partnering with terrific racing people like Max and Neil in The Everest”.
“It’s great for Godolphin and (trainer) James Cummings to get both Bivouac and now Trekking into The Everest field,’’ Cox said.
“They are both going into the race in top form and should run very well.’’
