Khabib Nurmagomedov has sparked up his long-running feud with arch rival Conor McGregor after posting a video of their brawl following UFC 229.

After Khabib’s victory over McGregor in 2018, what happened afterwards stole all the headlines as a mass brawl broke out between the fighters’ camps.

And following McGregor’s recent retirement from UFC, lightweight champion Khabib decided to poke fun of his rival by posting a GIF on his Instagram story, showing a member of his team, Zubaira Tukhugov, lashing out at McGregor.

Alongside the GIF, Khabib wrote a little message to his 20 million followers: ‘For the fans’.

Following his famous victory, the 31-year-old Russian jumped out of the Octagon and started to attack McGregor’s coach, Dillon Danis.

Khabib’s actions started the mass brawl, which has gone down as one of UFC’s most controversial moments.

Khabib received a nine-month suspension while McGregor was punished with six months.

After the Irishman announced his recent retirement – the third time he has done so in the past four years – one man very much questioned his decision.

‘Right now, he’s on punishment for his bad behaviour. Right now, he needs to sit down,’ Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz told TMZ.

‘Go fight Tony Ferguson, stay busy, stay active. Go fight Jorge Masvidal. Stay active, I want to see activity. Remember, he used to say that to all of us, guess what? Payback is a b****.’

When asked directly about McGregor’s announcement, Abdelaziz gave it short shrift, insisting that it was merely another publicity stunt.

‘Same old prostitute, he wants attention,’ was his abrupt answer.
