One day after LeBron James signed up to be in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform through the 2022-23 season, his top accomplice made plans to keep roots in Hollywood for years to come.
Anthony Davis and the Lakers are finalizing a five-year, $190 million maximum contract extension, Klutch Sports CEO and founder Rich Paul told ESPN on Thursday. Although Davis was a free agent, he was never expected to leave Los Angeles, even after he opted out of a player option that would have paid him $28.7 million.
Paul also told ESPN the deal includes an early termination option prior to the fifth year of the contract, and that Davis could sign the deal as soon as Thursday.
