England’s Ben Stokes brutally shuns Matt Hancock in cringey interview encounter

England cricket star Ben Stokes stuck himself out to brutally snub Health Secretary Matt Hancock live on TV in an awkward moment.

The Brit was appearing on Good Morning Britain as the national team continue their test series against India.

His interview was scheduled just before Hancock, with the politician getting a grilling from host Piers Morgan in a fierce row over the Government’s Covid-19 response.

But footage emerged of an awkward moment before the fireworks which saw Stokes get a run on Hancock.

The Health Secretary starts by saying via remote camera: “It is great to see Ben Stokes. You should have run that interview longer and what a great man.”

Susanna Reid is the first to respond, with: “But we're not going to let you off the hook Matt Hancock.”

But Morgan responds with a savage joke, hitting back: “Trust me, I wanted to.

“I wanted to run it for another 10 minutes and just bounce you off but anyway, here you are.”

Instead of returning to Hancock, though, the next shot is an awkward-looking Stokes, holding his hand over his face to cover up the laughter.

Piers grabs the moment to say: “Anything you want to say to the health secretary Ben?”

But he does not reply, simply holding his hand up to the camera and walking away.

With Morgan laughing, Reid simply says: “He's off. He doesn't want to extend the chat unfortunately."

The clip was soon shared on Twitter, where viewers were left in stitches at Stokes’ brutal response.

“Ben Stokes snubbing Matt Hancock on GMB has made my day,” one said.
