Tom Brady is ‘unathletic’ but wants to be like Roger Federer and Michael Jordan

New England Patriots legend Tom Brady isn’t only top dog on the football pitch.

According to his old friend and fellow Michigan graduate Tai Streets, the superstar quarterback is similarly handy on a tennis court.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Athletic , Streets gave an insight into what makes Brady such an elite NFL competitor.

However, Brady is also ribbed for being ‘unathletic and slow’ by his buddy despite fancying himself as the next Roger Federer.

“He could play tennis, and we’d play one-on-one and he’d win in that, unfortunately,” he said.

“Then in miniature golf, he’d beat us in that. I had the lead one time, and he came and won it.

“It p***** me off. He’s an awesome competitor.

“The tennis thing, he would talk junk, and I’d be like, man, this guy is not about to beat me.

“He would talk a little stuff and win, and it would make you so mad because he’s so unathletic and slow. He just gets it done, man.”

Street revealed Brady also like to channel his inner Michael Jordan.

But the 42-year-old’s lack of speed – even during his youth – is a recurring theme.

“His slow self, playing basketball, hitting the 3-pointers from the side off the backboard,” he added.

“His team would win, and I’d be like, ‘This guy is awful.’ He was good. He was just slow as hell.”

Since leaving Michigan, Brady has now established himself as one the most recognisable sportsmen in the world.

He has won six Super Bowls with the Patriots and is still going strong in the league.

Bill Belichick’s side are 8-1 ahead of their crunch clash with the Philadelphia Eagles tomorrow.
