WWE star calls out Chris Sutton and says he’ll "headbutt him on doorstep"

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has joked about his plan to headbutt pundit Chris Sutton.

The Scottish wrestler, 36, has said that when the WWE comes to the UK in September, he will be turning up at Sutton’s house and headbutting him. Speaking to BT Sport, McIntyre, a fervent Rangers fan, was quizzed about the former Celtic player and their feud.

“I can’t forget about Chris Sutton but I don’t think he’s gonna make it to Cardiff though," he said. "We’re just gonna get to the UK to start promoting the event and then you and I can take a jaunt through the UK doing some media spots. We’ll show up at his house and just headbutt him, get it on film. That’s good enough, he doesn’t have to come to the show, I’m just headbutting him on his doorstep.”

Sutton and the wrestling star were involved in an unlikely Twitter spat last year before Rangers were set to play in the Europa League. McIntyre appeared in the preview package for BT Sport ahead of the match with Slavia Prague – something which Sutton called ‘embarrassing.’

The former Chelsea striker tweeted: “Deary me one decent season in a decade and they are all out in force. Bit embarrassing this from little @DMcIntyreWWE in his speedos.”

McIntyre responded by saying: "see you soon Big Man" online, before goading the pundit over Rangers' recent success.

Meanwhile, the WWE announced that they would be returning to the UK for a special live event at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in September.

The event marks 30 years since the company put on a show of this magnitude in the country. One of their main shows, Summerslam, was held at Wembley Stadium with Bret Hart and Manchester-born The British Bulldog featuring in the main event.
