Aaron Rodgers takes on Tom Brady, Phil Mickelson in ‘Star Wars’ tweet ahead of golf matchup

Aaron Rodgers isn’t waiting to see Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in Montana to start up the war against them.

On Wednesday, Rodgers tweeted out a video with faces of himself as Han Solo and of his golf partner, Bryson DeChambeau, as Luke Skywalker from “Return of the Jedi” taking on Jabba the Hut, with Mickelson’s face, and Boba Fett, with Brady’s face.

The clip from the “Star Wars” film shows DeChambeau taking up his golf club lightsaber to fight on Jabba’s barge while Rodgers, as Solo, defeats Brady and sends him into the Sarlacc pit.

Mickelson responded to Rodgers’ Wednesday video, criticizing the lightsaber swing and noting that it needs some improvement before they all face off July 6.

It was the latest in what has become quite the back-and-forth battle on Twitter between the four athletes.

The four are going to be traveling to Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Mont., for “The Match,” with Mickelson and Brady teamed up against Rodgers and DeChambeau. It is the latest pairing Mickelson and Brady will take on after the two faced Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning last year for a charity match with proceeds going to COVID relief.

Brady sparked the online trash talk with a series of memes when Brooks Koepka reacted to DeChambeau walking by during an interview after last week’s PGA Championship.

DeChambeau stepped in to respond to Brady with his own responses to the Koepka meme.

Koepka weighed in, apologizing to Rodgers for having to be paired up with DeChambeau, to which DeChambeau responded that “It’s nice to be living in your head rent free.” Rodgers again responded with a meme, while Mickelson came in with the ultimate response.
