Someone call the Men in Black.
UFO sightings are as much an American tradition as pigskin, so it’s no surprise that Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield may have had a close encounter on Wednesday night.
Mayfield tweeted that he and his wife Emily witnessed a UFO on their way home from dinner in Texas, asking whether anyone else had noticed the otherworldly phenomenon.
“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner… we stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it… Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?”
Texas seems to be a popular spot for UFO sightings altogether, with the state ranking fourth in reported sightings as recently as 2019.
UFO — unidentified flying objects — is a phrase used to describe any object flying in the sky that’s, well, unidentified. Duh. So Mayfield saying he saw a UFO isn’t inaccurate, even if it wasn’t a spaceship not of this planet (or realm).
There may be something fishy happening with the unexplained and the 2018 NFL Draft class: Sam Darnold claimed he was seeing ghosts in 2019, and now Mayfield is one step away from being Neuralyzed by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.
Well, good thing there doesn’t seem to be any probing involved.
