DraftKings Week 6 Monday Night Showdown: Picks, advice for Packers vs. Lions NFL DFS

Packers vs. Lions presents a matchup of two veteran quarterbacks on Monday Night Football in Week 6, with Aaron Rodgers hosting Matthew Stafford. Rodgers has historically done well against Detroit, and that makes him a part of our DraftKings Showdown lineup for MNF as we try to finish off our NFL DFS week with a GPP tourament win. It won’t shock you that, in general, we’re going with a majority Packers lineup, as Green Bay should have the edge.

We’ll captain our lineup with a wide receiver, as we’ve been doing most of the time lately. If it hits, it seems to have the highest upside, and it only takes a few plays to pay off a ton. Marquez Valdes-Scantling was a disappointment in the first week Davante Adams missed, but we’re gonna count on him to figure it out this week and connect on at least one home run with Rodgers. Beyond that, we’re giving both running backs a go — Aaron Jones coming off four TDs and Kerryon Johnson fresh after a bye.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Packers vs. Lions

CAPTAIN (1.5x points, 1.5x price): WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Packers ($11,700)

Davante Adams’ absence makes MVS a solid bet for close to double-digit targets, and a number of those will be down the field. All we need is a Rodgers free-play deep ball to Valdes-Scantling — it’s a guaranteed success.

FLEX: RB Aaron Jones, Packers ($11,400)

Jones’ pricing isn’t inflated by his four-TD game a week ago. He should get a heavy dose of rushes in this one, despite the return of Jamaal Williams, and if the Packers continue to run as much as they have, he’ll give us a great floor in this lineup construction.

FLEX: RB Kerryon Johnson, Lions ($8,600)

If we’re using one player from the Lions’ offense, we’ll take their best and most consistent offensive player. The Packers’ defense has been good but not great, and Detroit should try to establish the run early and often.

FLEX: WR Jake Kumerow, Packers ($2,800)

Kumerow was far and away the third receiver for Green Bay without Adams a week ago, so that should continue with the star out again. It didn’t mean production in Week 5, but at this price, we’ll bet the usage results in a pay off for Kumerow.

FLEX: QB Aaron Rodgers, Packers ($11,800)

Rodgers underwhelms more often than not these days. It’s not really worth the discount to play Matthew Stafford in a game we feel the Packers hold an edge in, though, and with two Packers’ receivers in our lineup, the stack with Rodgers is the way to go.

FLEX: K Matt Prater, Lions ($3,600)

Since we feel like Green Bay’s defense is solid, we’ll count on Prater to drain a few long kicks.
