May the Schwartzy be with you.
Tom Brady’s return to Foxborough, Mass., on Sunday night certainly conjured mixed emotions; the Buccaneers quarterback took the field to a cascading chorus of cheers prior to kickoff before hearing a hearty helping of boos before he took his first snap of the game.
But not every Pats fan was welcoming of Brady before he took the field at Gillette Stadium. NBC highlighted a few New England diehards and their reactions and emotions surrounding Brady’s first trip back as a visitor.
One in particular captured the hearts, eyes and attention of viewers: “Schwartzy” from Ashland, Mass., had choice things to say about Brady, hoping that New England would levy some justice on the QB:
“I’ll cheer for him when he comes out, but after that, nah. I want some sacks,” Schwartzy said. “I want to see our frigging linebackers just pummel them and punish him.”
JONES vs. BRADY: Pats’ new QB more contrast than clone
Ashland is about 40 minutes north of Foxborough, home of Gillette Stadium, and it rests about 40 minutes west of Boston.
There’s something suspiciously perfect about Schwartzy being the embodiment of Massachusetts. The sunglasses, the Bruce Armstrong jersey, the absolute one-hand-on-wheel swagger while sitting in some classic American muscle car. Schwartzy just needed to throw in a “wicked pissah” and a “chucklehead” to complete the audition for “The Departed 2.”
Viewers tuning into the Patriots vs. Buccaneers pregame show caught a glimpse of Schwartzy and instantly showered the Pats fan with wicked approval:
In times like these, there’s only one question to ask: Weah did Ben Affleck pahk the Batcah?
