Texans RB Darius Anderson arrested for burglary with intent to rape

Houston Texans running back Darius Anderson was arrested and charged Friday for burglary with intent to rape, according to Harris County (Texas) Court records.

Anderson, 24, is no longer in custody and is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday, per court records.

“We are aware of the report involving Darius Anderson,” the Texans said in a statement to NFL Media. “We are gathering information and have no further comment at this time.”

Anderson, who played at Texas Christian University from 2016-2019, signed a reserve/futures contract with Houston in January. He was previously signed to a reserve/futures contract with the Indianapolis Colts in January of 2021 and waived by the club in August of the same year. He was added to the Texans practice squad in December of 2021 and has not played in an NFL game.
