Kyler Murray plays Saturday against the 49ers, but it won’t be a typical viewership experience for NFL fans.
The Cardinals (8-6) host the 49ers (5-9) at State Farm Stadium at 4:30 p.m. ET in Week 16, but the game won’t be broadcast on standard television. Instead, it’s an exclusive broadcast on Amazon Prime Video as Amazon positions itself for a piece of the NFL’s broadcast rights pie in the next round of negotiations.
This will be the middle of three Saturday games in the NFL in Week 16. The other two are on NFL Network, but this game will only be on Prime Video, forcing fans of these teams to potentially step outside their normal viewing comfort zone to watch.
Below is everything you need to know about how to watch Saturday’s game in Arizona, plus a look at the complete Week 16 NFL schedule.
What channel is 49ers vs. Cardinals on today?
Unlike the other Saturday games this season, 49ers vs. Cardinals will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. It’s the only such broadcast of the 2020 NFL season, although Prime Video has broadcast “Thursday Night Football” alongside Fox and NFL Network since Week 5.
Amazon will likely have a bigger chunk of the broadcast rights selection in the next round of contracts, but for now, it’s just this game that Amazon has for itself.
What time is the 49ers vs. Cardinals game?
This will be the middle of three games on Saturday. It’s just five minutes after the standard late-afternoon kickoff time on Sundays, which is 4:25 p.m. ET.
In Arizona, this game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. local time, while fans in San Francisco will be tuning in at 1:30 p.m. local time.
