Who plays on Monday Night Football tonight? Times, TV channels, schedule for NFL Week 15 games

We weren’t supposed to get any doubleheaders on Monday night this season. However, the ongoing COVID pandemic has changed the NFL’s plans.

As a result, there will be two games played on the Monday of NFL Week 15. It won’t technically be a “Monday Night Football” doubleheader but it will be just as good as one for NFL fans.

The first game, which will take place at 5 p.m. ET, was rescheduled from Saturday afternoon. The Browns and Raiders were originally scheduled to face off, but the Browns had more than 20 players on the COVID list as a result of an outbreak within the team. So, the game was moved two days ahead in the hopes of stopping the spread.

Meanwhile, the Bears are playing host to the Vikings in the original “Monday Night Football” matchup of Week 15 matchup. That game will have an impact on the NFC Wild Card race. The Bears are not involved in the chase. The Vikings are.

Here is everything to know about the two Monday night games, including ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” game, in Week 15, including the kickoff time and more.

Who plays on Monday night football tonight?

Below is the full schedule for the rare, two-game NFL Monday slate in Week 15.

What time are the Monday NFL games on?

Here’s how to watch each of the Monday NFL games in Week 15.

Raiders at Browns

The Raiders (6-7) and Browns (7-6) were originally scheduled to play on Saturday, but a COVID outbreak within the Browns’ camp forced the game to be postponed two days. As a result, they’ll play a Monday afternoon game as an appetizer to “Monday Night Football.”

It’s tough to know exactly who will be available to play for Cleveland this year. They have had 20-plus players on the COVID list for most of the week, including quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum, so they could be forced to starting Mullens if Mayfield can’t test out of protocol this week. That would make for a heavy dose of Nick Chubb, who figures to get a lot of touches with Kareem Hunt banged-up and on the COVID list.

As for the Raiders, they are coming off a 39-point loss to the Chiefs and are hoping to bounce back. They have a strong pass rush that could test Cleveland’s offensive line, which has multiple tackles on the COVID list while Jack Conklin is out for the season. And if Derek Carr can avoid getting pressured too much by Myles Garrett, the Raiders should have a chance to pass on the Browns’ defense.

Streamers will be able to watch this contest, which airs on NFL Network, by using fuboTV, which offers a 7-day free trial.

Meanwhile, viewers in Canada can watch the game on DAZN.

Vikings at Bears

The Bears (4-9) are hosting the Vikings (6-7) on “Monday Night Football” in Week 15. The Vikings are jockeying with several other teams for the potential No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff picture while the Bears are highly likely to miss the postseason in 2021.

Chicago has struggled this season to establish a rhythm on offense. They started Andy Dalton to begin the year before inserting rookie Justin Fields into the lineup. Fields has flashed but has been inconsistent. The play-calling hasn’t helped him either, and it seems likely that the Bears will move on from coach Matt Nagy after the 2021 NFL season.

The Bears’ defense isn’t as strong as it once was either. They have a decent pass rush even with Khalil Mack out for the season, but they have some holes in the secondary, as Artie Burns has proven to be a poor replacement for Kyle Fuller.

Meanwhile, the Vikings are in a weird limbo where they are looking to make the playoffs but still probably have too many holes on defense to make a deep postseason run. Mike Zimmer is joining Nagy on the hot seat and he might be gone if the Vikings can’t make the playoffs or win a playoff game.

Minnesota is still better than Chicago and is rightly favored in this game. However, they are just 5-7 in one-possession games this season, so the Bears could prove a pesky challenge for them.

If any game on the “Monday Night Football” schedule seemed predestined to be a grind-it-out slog, this would be the one. So, prep yourself for a good, old-fashioned defensive battle.
