The grandson of Formula One legend Emerson Fittipaldi has been airlifted to hospital following an F2 crash.

SkySports reports in Germany that Enzo Fittipaldi gave a signal with his arms as he was airlifted and is conscious.

He had collided with the car of Theo Pourchaire, who was stalling on the start line.

Footage then shows Fittipaldi driving into the back of him, with spectators gasping in horror.

Journalist Fabio Seixas said: "For those who are not watching: there was a bad crash at the start of F2. Porchaire was stuck on the grid and was hit hard by Enzo Fittipaldi.

"Everything stopped in Jeddah, red flag, everyone still waiting for more information."
