Kevin Walters was taken a lot from NSW over the years, but he wasn’t about to cop this rowdy NSW fan cutting in during a live cross on Fox League that went spectacularly off the rails.
Walters, the former Maroons coach, and Queensland great Corey Parker were absolutely mobbed out the front of Suncorp Stadium as fans spilt onto the street following the Maroons’ famous series win, clinched with a 20-14 victory in Game 3.
The live cross had to be cut early on Wednesday night as Fox League stars Yvonne Sampson, Cooper Cronk and Michael Ennis feared for their colleagues’ safety.

Walters and Parker tried to keep talking to the live studio as they were set upon by the mob, but eventually had to surrender to a group of more than 10 fans that crammed together to yahoo in front of the crowd.

When the crowd eventually dispersed, Ennis got in a cheeky jab about the lack of social distancing happening in Queensland.
“It’s a circus up there,” Ennis said.
Not even that could dampen Walters’ mood.
“Everything is beautiful up here. This is what happens when you win an Origin series,” he said.
"This is a Queensland party mate, get out!"

However, that’s when a second mob began to act up in the background of the camera shot and one brazen fan came up behind the presenters and put his arms around the pair.
It was the final straw for Walters.
He turned on the fan and gently pushed him off his shoulder before.
He then barked at the fan in a manner that saw the poor individual freeze on the spot before he took off running in the opposite direction.

State of Origin: Despite being labelled as the worst Queensland side in 40 years, it was the baby Maroons who claimed their first Origin win since 2017 and skipper Daly Cherry-Evans couldn’t help but take a cheeky swipe at the doubters
“Hey, this is a Queensland party, buddy, get out,” Walters said.
“Let’s go buddy, off you go.”
Walters’ eviction notice couldn’t deter the surrounding fans and second pile on eventually forced the live broadcast to return to the studio.
“And that’s the last we ever saw of Kevin Walters,” Sampson said.
Cronk said: “Never to be seen again”.
Broncos and will be hoping Walters turns up for the first day of pre-season training when he begins his new gig as head coach.
