Jurgen Klopp has been adamant that Salah will not be allowed to go
Jurgen Klopp has been adamant that Salah will not be allowed to go particularly as Liverpool have little time to find an adequate replacement.
They remain open to strengthening their midfield and have sounded a number of targets.
The Reds boss admitted that he is ‘uncomfortable’ as the Saudi Pro League side attempt to steal their star man.
‘There is nothing to talk about, we don’t have an offer,’ he said.
‘Mo is a Liverpool player and essential for everything we do. If there was something the answer would be “no”’.
With the Premier League transfer window slamming shut on Friday, Saudi Arabian sides have until September 20 to conclude their business.
Therefore, Salah could still leave beyond Friday’s deadline, leaving Liverpool without a replacement.
Speaking on the Saudi Pro League remaining open beyond England’s deadline, Klopp continued: ‘I was always glad when transfer windows are over.
‘It is not my job to complain, it is my job to take the team we have at the end of the transfer window and make the best of it.
‘What makes it not possible to deal with, is our transfer window closes and theirs stays open… how can we react?
‘We had it in the past with Russia, they had a different transfer window but that was not crazy money.
‘But the authorities should make clear that if you want to be part of the system then you do your business at the same time. I am pretty sure FIFA could do it like this if they want to.’
