Ansu Fati addressed Man Utd transfer as Barcelona loanee’s Sancho feelings clear
Jadon Sancho to train away from Man Utd squad until ‘discipline issue’ resolved
Ansu Fati poured cold water on suggestions he would leave Barcelona earlier in the summer transfer window amid links to Manchester United and other Premier League giants. Not many would’ve predicted seeing Lionel Messi’s successor in a Brighton and Hove Albion shirt just months later.
However, those in attendance at Old Trafford on Saturday are likely to witness Fati make his Brighton debut against United in the Premier League.
In August 2019, Fati became the second-youngest debutant in Barcelona history as a 78th-minute substitute in a win against Real Betis at the Nou Camp aged 16 years and 298 days.
The tricky winger became a regular for the La Liga giants, eventually inheriting Messi’s iconic No 10 shirt when the latter left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021.
But before then, in November 2020, Fati twisted his left knee, tearing his meniscus to start a frustrating stream of blows.
And three surgeries in as many years later, now aged 20, Fati has been pushed out of the exit door by the Xavi regime.
He’s made way for Barcelona’s new 16-year-old prodigy, Lamine Yamal, and will now seek to make an impact and restart the pursuit of realising his potential in England.

Fati was linked with a more blockbuster Premier League move before he opted to work with Roberto De Zerbi at high-flying Brighton.
Reports claimed Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and United were among the clubs offered the Spain international ahead of the 2023/24 season.
But Fati shrugged off interest publicly, telling Spanish outlet Teledeporte that he intended to fight for his place at Barcelona.
He said: “I have a contract with Barca, and my intention is to continue improving and growing there.
“That is my intention. I have a contract, and I’m happy. Both in my club and in the national team.”

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag told he has two-part key to unlock new Erling Haaland[NEWS]
One player who won’t be in action at Old Trafford this weekend is Jadon Sancho, banished from Erik ten Hag’s first team after publicly calling him a liar before the international break.
His absence will likely come as a great shame for Fati, who is clearly a huge admirer of the 23-year-old winger.
In 2020, Fati was pictured playing popular video game FIFA while wearing a ‘Sancho 7’ shirt from his days as one of Europe’s hottest young prospects at Borussia Dortmund.
Both players have suffered similarly negative trajectories in recent years, but a move to Brighton may have been exactly what Fati needed to shine again.
