Premier League title contenders Arsenal and Newcastle United have enquired about the possibility of landing one of Barcelona’s brightest talents, Alejandro Balde.
The 19-year-old left-back has broken through into the Barcelona first-team, having graduated from the club’s fabled La Masia academy, and has become a regular figure in manager Xavi’s La Liga side.

The Premier League duo have been encouraged to make an approach for the full-back with his current deal expiring in 2024 and Barcelona still in the crux of their financial crisis.
The Catalan giants have reportedly offered Balde a new contract that would see him remain at the Camp Nou until 2027, although there are complications with regards to registering Balde as a first-team player.
As was the case with Robert Lewandowski and Franck Kessie’s summer moves to Barcelona, financial difficulties at the club combined with salary caps imposed by La Liga have hampered their attempts to register new players.

Subsequently Balde would still not be registered as a first-team player even after signing a new deal with the club. The situation is said to have frustrated Balde who is keen to secure his future.
Both Arsenal and Newcastle have contacted the Spaniards representatives to see if he would be interested in making the switch to the Premier League.
Barcelona manager Xavi wants the youngster to commit his long-term future to the club
However despite the player’s frustrations, Barcelona are unwilling to negotiate any deal for the youngster who they deem as a key player in the club’s future.
The La Liga leaders are determined to tie Balde down to a new contract as soon as possible and will reportedly reject any offer for the player, although a seismic fee may tempt the club given their current financial status.
