Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta tells Bukayo Saka ‘get used to it’ after injury
Bruised Bukayo Saka fired Arsenal to the brink of the Champions League knockout stages with the second in the 2-0 win over Sevilla. The battering handed out by the La Liga side eventually took its toll and he limped off to join Arsenal’s growing band of injury concerns.
But his manager has told him he will just have to get on with it. Martin Odegaard and Eddie Nketiah are already in a race to be ready for Saturday’s game against Burnley.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: “I’m not sure if he was born embracing these sorts of challenges but I think he’s getting used to it! I don’t think that’s going to change, especially with the way he plays and the way he attracts players so he better get used to it.
“There’s contact in football and obviously for the wingers who want to take people on this is going to happen. At the end, he wasn’t comfortable to carry on, hopefully it’s not too much.

“It was just a kick and I was told by the physios on the radio he wasn’t happy to continue. So he will have some discomfort but hopefully, I am going to assume he will be okay.”
Arsenal can secure top spot if they beat Lens at the Emirates after PSV defeated the French side 1-0 in the other Group B match. Goals from Leandro Trossard and Saka gave the Gunners their third win of the group stage.
It was the first match since Saturday’s controversial defeat at the hands of Newcastle. Arteta was pleased with what he saw following the weekend’s disappointment.

He added: “I think it was more of the really good things that we did against Newcastle, we didn’t need a response because the team performed extraordinarily well against a team that are really difficult to play against. Today it needed other requirements, tactically we needed something else, we played at home, we need a different game, and we implemented what we wanted really, really well, so I’m really happy with the last two performances.”
Kai Havertz played the whole game and Arteta believes he is starting to prove why he spent £65million on him in the summer. He said: “For me, against West Ham in the first half he was the best player, Newcastle one of the best, and today, again he was really strong, I’m really happy with him.”
Arsenal play host to Burnley in the Premier League this Saturday before the next international break.
