Aaron Ramsdale is one of the freer spirits within Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side.
As well as amusing supporters with his winding up of opposition fans and his entertaining interviews and media appearances, Ramsdale has proven to be a revelation between the Arsenal posts. His spectacular saves, particularly at the start of the previous Premier League campaign, were the foundation of Arsenal’s push for a top four finish.
And his eccentric personality and bravery means it should be no surprise that the former Sheffield United ace broke his arm when he tried, and failed, to ride a skateboard down a slide. To make matters worse, he had to admit this to the Arsenal club doctor when he completed his £25million move.

“When I was 10-years-old I broke my arm,” Ramsdale said when asked about any past injuries, during the first episode of Arsenal: All or Nothing. When pressed further on the way in which he managed to do this, Ramsdale sniggered and looked to the ceiling in embarrassment before saying “I fell off a skateboard trying to go down a slide.”
Naturally, this made the club doctor laugh out loud, who then responded “you were a great goalkeeper in the making, love it.” Fortunately for the Gunners, Ramsdale’s skate and slide days are over as he is firmly focused on Arsenal.
The north Londoners have once again invested heavily and impressively, signing Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, and Marquinhos. Arsenal were desperately close to sealing an elusive place in the Champions League, but fell just short in the dying weeks of the season.

However, they appear to be in excellent condition, after a series of very impressive performances in the pre-season. As well as pummelling fierce rivals Chelsea 4-0 in Orlando, the Gunners went on to blow Spanish giants Sevilla away 6-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
If that was not impressive enough, £45m man Jesus bagged himself a remarkable hattrick in his first match at the Emirates in an Arsenal shirt. The former Manchester City ace was handed the No.9 shirt by Arteta, the same number he wore under Pep Guardiola during his many years at the club.
However, the Brazilian does not appear to be feeling any pressure with his new side. Arsenal commence their Premier League campaign with a very tricky trip to Crystal Palace on Friday night.
