Arsenal fans rave over the club’s "gorgeous" new home kit for next season

Arsenal fans have been raving over the club's "gorgeous" new home kit for next season.

The Gunners unveiled their new home strip for the 2022/23 season on Thursday morning, which will be worn for the first time on Sunday at home against Everton. Bukayo Saka, Granit Xhaka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leah Williamson all featured as the club unveiled the traditional red home shirt with white features and a lightning bolt design on the collar.

Arsenal have also announced that £5 from each shirt sale between May 19 and August 5 will go to the club's foundation and help a number of local projects.

Gunners fans have reacted to the new kit on social media following the release, with one tweeting: “Birthday on Saturday. Know what I’ll be treating myself to.”

Another added: “This kit is gorgeous, absolutely cannot wait for the away kit to drop.” While a third also wrote: “Love it! Reminds me of the ‘96 kit, which was my first ever Arsenal kit.”

One more Arsenal fan tweeted: “I have no choice but to buy this Jersey.”

Next season will mark the fourth year of Arsenal's kit partnership with Adidas, having signed a five-year deal with the German sportswear manufacturer prior to the 2019/20 season.

The agreement between the two parties is understood to be worth £60million per season, with Adidas also providing the kits for Leeds United, Leicester City and Manchester United in the Premier League.

Arsenal will debut their new home kit against Everton at the Emirates Stadium on the final day, with Mikel Arteta's side still having an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

Having lost their last two matches, Arsenal must now win and hope that north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur lose away to Norwich City in order to secure a top four finish. Arsenal would have to win by 16 goals if Spurs drew with Norwich.

The away and third kits for next season are expected to be announced by Arsenal soon, with leaked images suggesting they may be black with gold trim and pink with black trim, respectively.
