Arsenal believe Philippe Coutinho could provide cover for both Dani Ceballos and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, if either or both leave the club this summer. The Gunners have reportedly been offered the chance to bring the Brazilian back to the Premier League, following his struggles with Barcelona.
Mikel Arteta is working on a restricted budget which is why there is added impetus that he must win the FA Cup against Chelsea to qualify for the Europa League.
The achievement would help provide Arsenal with some additional funds for the coming months and go some way towards helping the club land their top targets.
Yet in a unique market following the COVID-19 crisis, Arsenal like many other clubs are looking for solutions.
That could come in the form of Coutinho, who is desperate to end his Barcelona nightmare and return to England, where he spent five years with Liverpool.

The star is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but the Bundesliga champions do not intend to make the deal permanent.
According to The Independent, Arsenal have been offered the chance to land Coutinho.
The proposition of a swap deal involving Matteo Guendouzi and a reported £9million is said to be on the agenda.
That seems ridiculously cheap for Coutinho, given that he moved to Barcelona in a deal worth £142million in January 2018.
Barca are set to slash their asking price and take a hit on Coutinho to get him off their books.

The report also adds that Arsenal feel Coutinho could replace Ceballos, if they cannot sign him from Real Madrid permanently or on another loan.
The Spaniard has made a huge impression since the restart and Arteta wants him to stay in north London following a successful loan spell.
Aubameyang’s future also remains uncertain though given he is yet to sign a new contract despite talks.
While Arteta believes he wants to stay, Arsenal are currently running the risk of losing him for cheap or worse, on a free transfer next year.

Arsenal also believe that Coutinho’s ability to play centrally would give them extra insurance if Aubameyang was to leave.
The Gunners captain has played the majority of matches under Arteta from the left of a front three, a role that Coutinho thrived in for Liverpool.
Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian recently confirmed his client wants to return to the Premier League.
“It’s no secret he wants to come back to the Premier League,” he told talkSPORT.
“For him to make a commitment pre having finished the Champions League.
“He loves playing in the Premier League, he is adored playing in the Premier League and that is one of his priorities. He is not at all against staying at Barcelona.”
