Arsenal hit with another coronavirus blow after Mohamed Elneny tests positive

Sead Kolasinac has tested positive for the coronavirus, becoming the second Arsenal player to contract Covid-19 on international duty.

The Bosnia national team confirmed the positive test on Wednesday, which rules the left-back out of his country's clash with Italy.

Mohamed Elneny tested positive for the coronavirus while on international duty with Egypt, which also ruled him out of his country's Africa Cup of Nations match with Togo.

Elneny is currently self-isolating in Cairo and showing no symptoms.

"The results of the medical swabs conducted by the national team upon arrival in Togo showed negative all except for Arsenal player Mohamed Elneny, whose result appeared positive without any symptoms," the Egypt Football Association said on Facebook.

"The player immediately began to implement the special medical protocol for people infected with Covid-19."

Elneny's positive test came three days after Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was confirmed to have the coronavirus while also on international duty with Egypt.

So far the international break has sparked frustration among Premier League managers, with a number of high profile players contracting the disease.

Jose Mourinho, who's Spurs side will be without Matt Doherty after he tested positive while on Ireland duty, voiced his frustration on Instagram.

The Tottenham boss sarcastically wrote: "Amazing week of football. Great emotions in the national team matches, superb friendlies and total safety.

"Covid test results after matches been played, randomers running on the pitch while team sessions are taking place and much more. After another training session with only six players, it is now time to take care of myself."
