Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has reacted after his side’s 1-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday. The Norway international scored the only goal of the game for the Gunners, curling home a sublime free-kick to take all three points. Sean Dyche, meanwhile, was disappointed with the result – believing his side put in a ‘good performance’ at Turf Moor.

Arsenal went into the match against Burnley hoping to record a second Premier League win on the trot.

Having beaten Norwich City 1-0 last time out courtesy of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal, Saturday’s match at Turf Moor provided the visitors with another chance to get three points on the board.

And though Arsenal weren’t at their blockbuster best, Odegaard’s goal was enough to secure victory.

The win has helped ease more of the pressure on Arteta’s shoulders, with the Spaniard previously overseeing a nightmare start to the campaign.

And, speaking afterwards, Odegaard expressed his delight with scoring the winner – and ordered the squad to be ‘smarter’ when they’re on the ball.

“When we got the free-kick I immediately went to the ball,” he said.

“It was a big moment and a nice moment to see it go in.

“You need to hit it pretty perfectly, with the right speed and the right height.

“The game was kind of a war in the end. We know their strength. We played their game a little more than our own game.

“In the second half they played their game and they’re good at it. We need to be a little bit smarter when we win the ball.

“I believe in this team. Even though we lost some games in the beginning, I’m not too surprised we’ve got some points now.”
