Arsenal: Has Arteta found a winning formula for Gunners?
Arsenal have received a boost in their reported pursuit of Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Julian Brandt. Germany international Brandt is one of a host of creative players linked with a move to the Emirates this month. Real Madrid star Isco and Norwich City ace Emiliano Buendia are two other names on the radar of Gunners technical director Edu.
Arsenal had scored just 12 goals in their first 14 Premier League games of the season.
However, three successive wins against Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom have seen Mikel Arteta’s side score eight goals, with youngsters Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe impressing.
The form of Smith Rowe as a No 10, in particular, has been a positive for Arteta.
However, the increased interest in Buendia in recent days suggests it is a position Arsenal still want to invest in.

Brandt, 24, has registered just one assist in 13 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund this season and is yet to score for the German club this term.
Reports say a fee of around £22.5million would be enough for Arsenal to secure a deal.
And Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has refused to rule out an exit.
“My years of activity have taught me that I don’t rule anything out at the beginning of a transfer period,” Zorc said.

But Zorc says there has been no contact from any club regarding a deal for Brandt.
Asked about rumours that talks are advancing with Arsenal, Zorc said: “I read that too, I can’t say more about it.
“No one has contacted us, there is nothing on the table – and not even in the fax machine.
“That’s all I can say.”
Brandt only joined Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2019 for a fee similar to what Arsenal would have to pay for him now.
His record of 33 goals in 165 Bundesliga matches for Leverkusen made him one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking midfielders.
But he has scored just eight goals in 64 appearances for Dortmund and hasn’t started a Bundesliga match since December 5 after falling out of favour at Signal Iduna Park.
Brandt has won 35 caps for Germany since his debut in 2016, scoring three goals.
He played in the same Leverkusen team as Arsenal star Bernd Leno for four years before the goalkeeper moved to the Premier League in 2018.
