Arsenal transfer gossip as Gunners enter race for Barcelona star

Arsenal will be happy to see the back of the 2020/21 season, after what has been a testing campaign for the club.

Mikel Arteta's side have fallen short of expectations this term and face a rebuilding job in the summer transfer window to get back to challenging for a top four place.

The Gunners' boss must decide on the players capable of carrying the club to the next level and those who will not be part of that journey.

It's expected that as many as five player could arrive at the Emirates in the coming months – but just who is being considered?

We have taken a look at the latest Arsenal rumours below…

Gunners face Calhanoglu competition

Arsenal are not the only club tracking AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu this summer and could be priced out of a move.

It is understood that Qatar-based side Al-Duhail are proposing a mega-money offer for the Turkish international, worth £130,000 per week.

Calhanoglu would be paid a staggering £27 million over three years in the Middle East (including a £7million signing-on fee) according to Sky Italia.

Arsenal enter Emerson race

Arsenal have emerged as potential candidates to sign Barcelona right-back Emerson.

The Brazilian has spent the past two seasons on loan at Real Betis but is due to return to Camp Nou ahead of next season.

But if the 22-year-old is not guaranteed regular game time, Spanish publication Sport believe the player could consider other options.

Everton are also believed to be interested in Emerson, though Arsenal are deemed favourites due to the possible departure of Hector Bellerin.

Bestikas left-back makes Arsenal claim

Besiktas left-back Ridvan Yilmaz has spoken of his desire to join Arsenal.

The 19-year-old was part of the Besiktas side to recently win the Turkish top-flight title, featuring 18 times this campaign.

Arteta's side are expected to be in the market for a left-back this summer to provide cover for Kieran Tierney.

And the teenage defender has made clear he would be interested in a move to the Emirates.

Speaking on TRT Spor (via Fanatik ), he said: "I want to leave Besiktas by making money. My heart is in favour of England.

"I want to play for Arsenal, the Premier League team."
