Arsenal are well aware of Lucas Torreira's desire to leave the Emirates and head back to Italy this summer, the player's agent has revealed.
Torreira spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid after being deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta in north London.
But after struggling for game time in Spain, the Uruguay midfielder has returned to Arsenal without any chance of landing a permanent switch to Diego Simeone's Spanish champions.
Reports in Italy suggest Lazio are looking to sign him this summer, with Il Tempo recently claiming the Serie A outfit are 'very close' to agreeing a deal.
And Torreira's agent has confirmed his client wants to return to Italy three years after departing Sampdoria for Arsenal, while insisting Gunners chiefs are aware of his desire to leave.
“He wants to go back to Italy," Bentancur told TuttoMercatoWeb.
"They called me from France, Russia and Spain. But Lucas wants to embrace the Italian championship again to prove his worth again.

"Arsenal have understood the situation and will come to meet us."
It is believed Arsenal are willing to sell Torreira, who still has two years remaining on his contract, for around £17million.
His impending departure and Dani Ceballos' return to Real Madrid leaves Arteta in need of a new midfielder this summer.
Granit Xhaka is also believed to be on the verge of leaving to join Roma, while Matteo Guendouzi is likely to seal a permanent move away after spending last season on loan at Hertha Berlin.
Arteta is said to be targeting another deal for Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar, whom Arsenal failed to prise away from France in the previous summer and autumn transfer window.
