Arsenal’s Odegaard plans, truth in Buendia interest, £15m Championship pursuit

Arsenal are looking to bolster their playing squad during the summer transfer window after a miserable season in which they finished eighth in the Premier League table.

In addition, the Gunners lost their FA Cup crown at the fourth round stage, lost in the quarter-final of the EFL Cup and were knocked out of the Europa League semi-finals.

While failed European Super League plans put Stan Kroenke under huge pressure, he has promised to fund incoming deals in a bid to keep supporters onside.

Daily Star Sport have now taken a look at three deals that could go ahead at the Emirates in the coming weeks, one of which involves the potential return of an impressive loanee.

Martin Odegaard update

Football.London report that Martin Odegaard remains the main target of Arsenal this summer, despite some confusion over his position under Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

They add that technical director Edu remains convinced that he can find an agreement with Los Blancos, and it could be either a loan extension or permanent move.

Odegaard said of the return of Ancelotti: “It is a coach I know and with whom I had a good relationship when he was last there. In that sense, it is positive.

“But beyond that, one day has passed, so I do not know too much about what he thinks about things.”

Truth in Emiliano Buendia interest

While Emiliano Buendia looks set to join Aston Villa from Norwich on a club-record deal, there has been plenty of talk over interest from Arsenal earlier in the month.

Football.London report that the Argentina international had been on the radar of the Gunners since way back in December, and added that their recent interest was serious.

Having launched a bid for him on Wednesday, it appears as though Arsenal have not been willing to give up easily, despite his £34million price-tag.

£15m pursuit of Championship starlet

Arsenal are said to be one of three Premier League clubs that are keeping tabs on Stoke defender Nathan Collins, who could cost in the region of £15m

Burnley are said to be long-term admirers, with Leicester another side showing interest.

The 20-year-old has proved to be a reliable asset in the Championship under Michael O'Neill, and could even earn a Premier League move before the new season begins.
