Aston Villa vs Sheffield United live stream: How to watch Premier League match online

Aston Villa and Sheffield United will contest the first match of the Premier League restart. No fixtures have been held since March due to the coronavirus pandemic but all 92 remaining games are set to be played.

Villa would move out of the bottom three with a win, while a victory for the Blades would move them up to fifth.

“The eyes of the world will be on us. We’re looking forward to it,” said Villa boss Dean Smith.

“We’ve worked very hard. The players during the lockdown were very compliant with all the work we sent them.

“Since the lockdown, non-contact training, contact training… The players are itching to get back.”

The Premier League’s remaining fixtures will all be played behind closed doors.

Smith added: “That adrenaline rush that you get with them being a part of the game will be disappointing to not have.

“The players have to come up with their own motivating tools now.”

Blades boss Chris Wilder has also highlighted the significance of playing the first match of the restarted season.

“First game back is going to be a little bit different, what we understand is the magnitude of the game, the coverage of the game,” said Wilder.

“You can’t get away from the fact that possibly Villa-Sheff Utd was a Championship game last year and would possibly have been seventh or eighth on Match Of The Day and now it is 6pm on the TV and worldwide coverage.

“From our point of view we want to put on a good show and make sure we play well.

“Players will naturally want to play well and we want to do that as a football club.”
