Barcelona announced signing of Tottenham-bound Lenglet with talking football

Clement Lenglet is reportedly set to seal a season-long loan switch to Tottenham – but the Londoners will have their work cut out to top the bizarre announcement video that Barcelona put together for the Frenchman back in 2018, which including a whacky talking football.

The whacky video went viral at the time after the Spanish giants shelled out more than £30million to snatch Lenglet from their La Liga rivals, Sevilla. In it, a talking football discussed what it was like to be out on the pitch with the Barcelona team, and how it longed to be put in Lionel Messi's personal museum at the end of the Argentine's career.

In the clip, which truly has to be seen to be believed, the ball then excitedly announces the arrival of Lenglet, who had joined from Sevilla to partner Gerard Pique at the back. Since then, Lenglet has become a regular at the Nou Camp, but he now looks set for an unexpected Premier League switch.

Tottenham are reportedly thrashing out a deal for the 27-year-old centre-back, has racked up over 160 appearances since arriving at Barcelona. The Catalan club are struggling financially, so are open to offloading Lenglet for the right terms this summer, even though he made 27 first-team appearances last year.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte has been a busy bee in the transfer market, but is still searching for defensive reinforcements. Conte is in the market for a left-footed centre-half, and the Londoners have previously been linked with Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni and RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol in recent days. However, with both Bastoni and Gvardiol seemingly content to stay put at their current clubs, Spurs could attempt to accelerate a deal for Lenglet.

The Italian coach has already bolstered his squad with four signings, with Richarlison the latest to arrive in north London after his £60m move was confirmed on Friday. The Brazilian joins the likes of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma in joining Conte's new-look Tottenham team.

However, a deal is now edging closer, with The Mirror revealing that the 21-year-old is expected to complete a medical in north London on Friday ahead of his £15m move.
