Manchester United’s chances of signing Ousmane Dembele have received a boost, because Barcelona need to sell the winger after landing Memphis Depay. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Barcelona are set to confirm the arrival of Depay today.
The Catalans have been after him since the arrival of Ronald Koeman, and now appear set to get their man.
Barca will pay £22.6million for the ex-United man, and will include a series of add-ons.
Koeman had been determined to sign the forward as a replacement for Luis Suarez, after allowing the Uruguayan to depart for Atletico Madrid late last month.

His arrival at the Nou Camp means players will have to depart, and Barca are now ready to part ways with Dembele.
According to Romano, Barcelona have now decided they have to sell Dembele this summer to balance the books after the signing of Depay.
That will be welcome news to United, who had been looking at him as a potential alternative for Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils are still viewing the Borussia Dortmund wonderkid as their main target, and have been tipped to make one final bid today.

However, if they don’t get him, they are ready to make a move for French winger Dembele.
United had previously been in talks with Barca over a loan move for the 23-year-old, and viewed him as a temporary solution to their problems out wide.
But now, with talks for Sancho at a standstill, they could reignite their interest and sign Dembele permanently as a cheaper option.
Dembele is open to moving to Old Trafford today, and could be signed for a reported £55m.

Speaking on Sunday, Koeman admitted Dembele could leave the club on deadline day.
He said: “There are things that can happen but at the moment he is a Barcelona player.
“There is one more day — players can enter or leave.”
If he joins, Dembele is likely to become the club’s third signing of a hectic deadline day, with Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani set to join today.
