Bellerin issues Mikel Arteta sack message as pressure mounts on Arsenal boss

Hector Bellerin says Mikel Arteta having his credentials questioned is "so unjust".

Arteta is under pressure to turn things around at Arsenal, with the club floundering down in 14th in the Premier League following defeat by Wolves on the weekend.

The Gunners boss spoke frankly about his position after the match, in which he admitted he is under no illusions he will be sacked one day.

Bellerin was asked for his opinions on the growing pressure on Arteta, and launched a staunch defence of his boss.

The right-back also called on his Gunners team-mates to do more to turn things around to ensure Arsenal start climbing the Premier League table.

"When you lose a game it's always very easy to blame the coach. But also when the coach gives us the tools we have to be the ones to step up.

"The way that Mikel plans these games… all the knowledge that they give us before we step on to the pitch is second to none.

"Sometimes it's not that easy, depending on the opponent, but that's why football is beautiful. If you play the games on the [tactics] board, then it will be a completely different game."
