Haris Seferovic’s injury-time blunder against Barcelona has been called "the worst miss ever" by some fans.
The 29-year-old played for the Portuguese side as they faced Xavi's men in the group stage of the Champions League, with his attempted strike at an open goal being roundly ridiculed online.
The game finished 0-0 but Benfica had a chance to take home all three points and put progression into the knockout stages firmly in their hands when their Swiss striker received the ball through on goal in the 93rd minute and managed to knock the ball past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
However, his subsequent shot trickled the wrong side of the post and the two sides got a point apiece.
Reaction to the miss was aplenty online, with some labelling it one of the worst misses they had ever seen.
One wrote: “That is the worst miss I have ever watched in football by Benfica’s Haris Seferovic. Barca got a big break. It ends 0-0.”
Another said: “Seferovic with the miss of the century.”
A third wrote: “Nobody ever, ever, EVER speak to me about Seferovic again. Ever.”
Someone stated: “How in the world did Seferovic miss this.”
A fifth wrote: “Seferovic??? WHAT? Miss of the season.”

Benfica, who are third in Group E on five points, will now need to beat Dynamo Kyiv in their final game and hope that Barcelona, who are on seven points, either draw or lose to Bayern Munich to stand a chance of making it to the knockout stages.
The Ukrainian side and Barca share the same goal difference so they just need a positive deficit to overtake the Catalans.
Meanwhile, even Benfica’s own manager, Jorge Jesus, said that Seferovic's stoppage-time miss was the worst he has seen ‘in 30 years.’
“In 30 years as a coach, I've never seen anything like this, but it happened," Jesus told the CNN Portugal. "To me and to Benfica."
Still, the coach admitted that he was proud of his team’s efforts and he believes they are capable of making the second spot in the table.
"The team created opportunities, we left with a result that makes us dream [of advancing], it doesn't depend on us," he said. "We have a chance when there's only one game left. We're in the mix with Barcelona, a team that aims to win the Champions League.
"This can only make us proud to the fans because the team behaved like a great team here."
