Borussia Dortmund have made enquiries for another English starlet Noni Madueke ahead of Jadon Sancho’s imminent departure.

PSV and England Under-21 winger Madueke is high on Dortmund’s list of possible replacements for Sancho who is heading for Manchester United after they agreed a £73m deal to sign him on Wednesday.

Madueke is well known to Dortmund’s new manager Marco Rose. Rose was keen to sign Madueke when he was in charge of former club Borussia Monchengladbach.

Madueke was viewed as one of the best players of his age has he came through at Tottenham and continued to display his potential since moving to PSV aged 16 in search of more first team opportunities.

He progressed quickly through PSV’s youth setup, made his debut aged 17 the following season and has become a regular in the first-team setup.

Madueke, who has also attracted interest from the likes of Leicester and AC Milan, has been one of Europe’s most effective English attacking players this season.

He has maximised his game time to score nine times and set up eight more goals in 32 appearances.

Only 10 of those appearances have been starts, underlining Madueke’s ability to impact matches.

Donyell Malen, also of PSV, is another Dortmund target but may require convincing to leave

Madueke’s club mate Donyell Malen, 22, is another target of Dortmund’s though he may require some convincing to move.

While Dutchman Malen is a versatile forward his preference is to play through the middle as a striker and he is thought to be reluctant to join a club where he would be second choice.

Dortmund currently have Erling Haaland as their leading No 9 and, having sold Sancho, are determined to hang on to the Norwegian amid interest in him from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
