Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has reiterated the club’s stance that Erling Haaland will not be sold this summer despite recent quotes from the player’s agent Mino Raiola. Manchester United and Chelsea are two of the clubs strongly interested in signing Haaland in the upcoming window.
Haaland has had a sensational first full season at Dortmund, scoring 37 goals in 38 matches in all competitions.
His form has also led to interest from Premier League champions-elect Manchester City, and La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Haaland’s release clause of around £65million does not become active until 2022.
But Dortmund have maintained they will not look to cash in on the striker this year despite having the chance of receiving a much higher fee.

On Saturday, Raiola noted what Dortmund have said but claimed that could change before the close of the summer window.
“What we know as of today is that Dortmund spoke extremely solemnly to us and said: ‘We are not selling him’. That’s the situation, definitely,” Raiola told Spanish outlet AS.
“That’s what they’ve said. Now let’s see if that desire is still there through to the 1st of September.
“Today, the official stance of Dortmund is this. But I’ve got another view, I think that if a good opportunity comes up and everyone would be happy, we’ll put it on the table.

“Haaland is interested in two things: Scoring goals, because he’s a little bit like Cristiano [Ronaldo] or Zlatan [Ibrahimovic]… it’s his obsession, in a positive way. And winning titles.
“No doubt he’ll pick somewhere where he feels those two things go together best for him.”
However, in response to Raiola, Watzke has since spoken again on Haaland’s future.
And he is adamant the forward will remain with his club into next season.
“I’ve known Raiola for a long time and get along well with him,” Watzke told Sport1.
“It’s no problem for us. Erling Haaland will remain a Borussia Dortmund player next year”.
Both United and Chelsea are in the market for a striker heading into the summer.
Edinson Cavani’s future at Old Trafford remains in doubt, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to let Olivier Giroud leave for free and may also listen to offers for Tammy Abraham, who has fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.
