Jamie Carragher has fumed "that's not right" after Manchester City were awarded a controversial penalty against Chelsea on Sunday evening.
Marc Cucurella found himself one-on-one with Erling Haaland at the back post as Julian Alvarez looked to pick out the big Norwegian. Haaland and Cucurella were both giving as good as they got, but after Cucurella was on the wrong side of Haaland, he pulled him down.
However, Carragher was left seething with the decision, claiming that Cucurella was only on the wrong side of the superstar due to Haaland pulling him first. He said: "I think that’s harsh for me, because it looks like half of one, half a dozen on the other between Haaland and Cucurella.

"Cucurella initially is tight and aggressive with Haaland but Haaland also grabs hold of him. This is not the right decision because VAR wasn't looking at the start of the tussle, he’s got hold of his shirt which allows him to get in front and then he goes down. That's not right.
"It’s very harsh on Chelsea, VAR have only looked at the end of tussle. I think it’s harsh, I really do."

"Haaland literally pulls Cucurella back first. Corruption at its finest," one fan fumed. While a second added: "Haaland has much of Cucurella there as Cucurella has of him!"
"This isn’t right, Haaland looked to have pulled Cucurella first," a third fumed. And another added: "Haaland fouls Cucurella first? That’s how he wins the f***ing penalty. More VAR b*******."
Haaland rolled home the subsequent penalty, but City's lead was short lived as Thiago Silva nodded Chelsea level four minutes later. And Chelsea roared into the lead ten minutes later as Raheem Sterling tapped the ball into an open net.
