Odsonne Edouard is a major doubt for Celtic’s crunch league clash with Rangers after testing positive for coronavirus.
The French Football Federation confirmed a positive diagnosis for the Parkhead star in a statement on Tuesday night.
Edouard will miss European Champions under-21 qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Slovakia.

Packed into isolation by the French FA the 22-year-old now faces at least a week on the sidelines.
Celtic sources played down talk of a squad outbreak ahead of the meeting with Rangers in 10 days’ time.
The Scottish champions ran tests on players on Tuesday, with internationals tested by their respective nations. To date Edouard is the only player to have tested positive amidst suspicions he contracted the virus en route to France to join international team-mates.

Nevertheless, question marks now exist over Edouard’s fitness and return travel plans for the Rangers clash at a time when £5million signing Albian Ajeti already faces a race against time to be fit.
In a statement released late on Tuesday night the French Federation confirmed: ‘Odsonne Édouard will not participate in the France-Liechtenstein and France-Slovakia qualifiers for Euro 2021.
‘The result of his Covid-19 test carried out by UEFA this Tuesday morning, October 6, was positive.
‘Odsonne Édouard was sidelined from the group upon receipt of the results at the end of training.He was then placed in isolation.
‘All other tests carried out on the entire delegation, staff members and players, have come out negative.’
Steven Gerrard’s side are top of the league and will be boosted if Edouard is unavailable
