Chelsea have been alerted to Matthijs de Ligt’s contract stand-off with Juventus.
The Holland defender is reluctant to agree new terms with his current buy out clause set at a prohibitive £102m.
He is open to a Premier League move but Chelsea would offer substantially less than his clause. They want to add five new signings this summer with centre-backs and full-back the priority for Thomas Tuchel.

The German manager will look for defensive reinforcements after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both departed the club on free transfers to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Meanwhile, they will also seek to bolster their forward areas after the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.
The forward, who was signed for £97.5m last summer, endured a torrid second spell at the club and returns to Inter Milan who he left for Chelsea last year.
It has also been reported that Hakim Ziyech, who was signed from Ajax in 2020, could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge with AC Milan said to be keen on acquiring the player.

Ousmane Dembele, who is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the month, is said to be a key target of Chelsea’s.
Tuchel worked with the Frenchman at Borussia Dortmund and the club would likely be able to match his wage demands, which are proving a sticking point between him and Barcelona currently.
Richarlison, who will likely leave Everton this summer, has been widely linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. It is believed Tottenham are also keen on the player.
