Chelsea duo’s agents in talks with ‘big club’ over double January transfer deal
Exclusive: Shaun Wright-Phillips discusses Chelsea’s transfer policy
The agents of Chelsea players Armando Broja and Malang Sarr are reportedly in discussions with a ‘big club’ in Turkey. Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino called on the board to sanction squad improvements in January after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Everton, which could spark a series of exits from Stamford Bridge.
Sarr, a 24-year-old centre-back, has not made a single competitive appearance for Chelsea this season. The Frenchman spent last campaign on loan at Monaco, and his prospects of fighting into the Blues’ first-team set-up are slim after Pochettino appeared to forget who he was back in the summer.
Broja, meanwhile, is finally fit and ready to play after a lengthy injury lay-off. The Albania international is highly thought of in west London, but Pochettino’s main complaint after the Everton defeat – in which Broja started – was a lack of cutting edge up top.
According to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale, the agents of both Sarr and Broja are in discussions with a ‘big’ but unnamed club from the Super Lig.

It remains to be seen whether the talks evolve into concrete action once the transfer window swings open. Sarr is believed to pocket hefty wages with the Blues, so the opportunity to move him would surely be welcomed by Todd Boehly and co.
By contrast, Broja signed a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge only last year. The 22-year-old has drawn high praise from team-mates such as Raheem Sterling, and indeed Pochettino himself, hinting that a temporary spell away would be more likely than a permanent exit.

Man Utd have nightmare run of fixtures that could leave Ten Hag in big trouble[COMMENT]
Following defeat to the Toffees, Pochettino put his Chelsea players on high alert by plainly stating that he is due a sit-down with the recruitment team, and January transfers will be high on the agenda. “Of course, after the first half of the season, we need to check the reality,” said the Argentine.
“If we’re not aggressive enough, maybe we need to do something, some movement. That’s a thing to analyse with the sporting director and owner, and see what we can do to change the dynamic and improve for the second half of the season.
“We need to be more aggressive and need, not only dominate and play well, but to compete. Sometimes it is good, [the] reality check. The expectation is massive and the reality low.
“That’s why it’s about taking decisions, being strong in the way that we assess the team and be clever and take decisions to try to improve in the second part of the season. When the transfer window opens, [we’ll] see what we can do.”
